Initial and final inspection

In response to your written notice that you are cancelling your rental agreement, Vesteda will contact you to schedule an initial and final inspection. You must always keep the following aspects in mind.

Initial inspection

Your woongalerie will contact you to schedule a date for the initial inspection. During this inspection, matters will be discussed which you need to replace or modify before you move out. The residence must be left behind in good condition. For example, you will need to remove any wall coverings you may have installed, repair any holes in walls or ceilings, remove any nails, screws, carpeting, and curtains etc. Vesteda will of course inform you exactly what actions you will need to take before moving out.

Final inspection and settlement of costs

Vesteda will go over the list of actions with you and check to make sure that all matters agreed upon have been implemented. You will then hand over the keys to Vesteda. You may not give the keys to the next tenant yourself. If Vesteda needs to carry out work activities because your residence has not been left behind as agreed upon, the costs involved will be part of the final settlement.

Useful tips

note down all the information displayed on the various utility meters (electricity, gas and water)
make sure your telephone, TV and Internet connections are transferred to your new address
register your move at the municipal registry office
use the TNT postal forwarding service (only in Dutch)
